since I can't overburn a DVD, is it possible to delete one of the introductory .vob files and still burn the DVD?

Your disk probably won't play. You can open the files with DVD Shrink and deselect stuff you don't want or need, and it will maintain the playability automatically. My results with this method have always been best if I output an .ISO from DVD Shrink and burn it separately.

Hi!is it possible to delete one of the introductory .vob filesIf you follow the suggestion by "CWR03" to use DVD Shrink, in order to delete anything other than audiostreams or subtitle streams, you'll have to use the "Re-author" mode of DVD Shrink - and, as a consequence, you'll lose the use of the DVD's menu. If you don't mind the loss of the menu, it's a great and simple solution.
If, on the other hand, you want to retain the functioning menu, one simple way is to use "DVD95Copy" (NOT freeware) and simply DE-select those titles that you want to eliminate. (I believe the same thing can be accomplished, though not as easily, by using freeware programs such as "VOBBlanker" or "PGCEdit")...

though not as easily
I disagree. What is more easy than finding the right domain in PgcEdit and using Blank Out All PGCs in Domain? It's almost a one-click operation, and your VOB is blanked or removed!

@r0lZWhat is more easy than finding the right domain in PgcEdit and using Blank Out All PGCs in Domain?Although what you've just described certainly does sound almost as easy, for those members (including myself) who may be less technically oriented, the elegant and rich "PGCEdit" may appear to be daunting, if only because of the multitude of capabilities and options it offers and the level of knowledge it requires to, perhaps, even understand the terminology used (Not everyone understands what a "domain" is or, perhaps, even what a "PGC" is).
On the other hand, as I previously described, "DVD95Copy" only requires the user to uncheck one box...

Well, the OP knew which VOB he wanted deleted VTS_0X_1.VOB
It is verrrrry simple to open the DVD in PgcEdit, place cursor on VTST X and go Ctrl-Del and then Ctrl_S to save. Whole thing takes maybe 10 seconds and you don't need to be technically proficient to do that. Heck, there's even a (hopelessly out of date) help file to guide users.
Still, each to his own...
