I have just finished doing a movie in DivX (4.11) and then I went to use Nero, most recommended burner on this site, and it says it's standard compliant and all that jazz but when I go to burn it it comes up with two respones;

xx:xxpm (time) Encoding video and then 2 seconds later it just comes up with the command line and the burner stops as if it's done burning but it hasn't done shit. Any suggestions or reasons why it's doin this. And do you know if EZ CD Creator 5 platinum has any codec problems with any dvd encoding etc programs??

Thanks.

What exactly are you trying to do? AVIs are put onto CD-R as standard ISO9660 data CDs, not Video-CD ... Nero should never even check standard (which standard anyway? There is no divx standard) compliance (that is only done for VCD and SVCD). You should only see "encoding video" if you convert to (S)VCD ... if you want to do that, better do it with some other program like DVDx or DVD2SVCD. BTW, a divx can never be played back on a DVD player.

no no eventually I figured it out. I realised that I wasn't making a video cd cuz those are only for playback on standalone's etc so I wrote it as a data cd. Thanks though. BTW, when doing a video cd (hence VCD, duh *note to self*) nero has a standard compliance so that it brings up an error message if it's not compliant to play on standalone dvd's.
