I have MEncoder Sherpya, but older version for RealAnime 5 and it works. Where can I get updates for that build?

Maybe it was from here ?

Try a different source file...

# mencoder-p3-svn-21000.7z [3.56 mb] - Nov 18, 2006

this one crash also.

It isn't your source file? Try loading filemon before you start the mencoder command, maybe it'll catch the offender

my source is the file I use for all my encoding tests. doesn't crash if I ask xvid.

Looks like Mencoder accesses c:\windows\system32\winmm.dll

I think you have a DirectX incompatibility.

mencoder.exe:5144 OPEN C:\WINDOWS\System32\WINMM.DLL SUCCESS Options: Open Access: Read-Attributes
mencoder.exe:5144 QUERY INFORMATION C:\WINDOWS\System32\WINMM.DLL SUCCESS Attributes: A
mencoder.exe:5144 CLOSE C:\WINDOWS\System32\WINMM.DLL SUCCESS

weird...

I have the latest and it only affect x264.

If mine and Sherpya's builds both crash, then that suggests a problem with mencoder code. Happens quite regularly with the svn, especially under windows.

No problems here though with "dev-SVN-r21468-4.0.3". I'm running an X2 though. Could be CPU related.

hum...

wierd. I tested your latest P4 and CPU-check-on-runtime and both crash (P4 2.8GHz).

Sirber

no crash with "MEncoder Sherpya-r21000-MinGW-4.1.1" for P3.

wierd... must be my P4 at work.

did you ever fix your problem? if not i may have an idea for you. what hardware (specifically the cpu) is in your system?

hmm can any one comfirm this?
x264 in mencoder only crash with subq > 1 or 8x8dct enabled.
im using lastest svn of x264, mencoder and ffmpeg, gcc 4.0.3/4.2.0
XP sp2 and P4 2.4GHz.

ive run x264 in mencoder as recently as 36 hours ago with both subq > 1 and 8x8dct enabled with no problems. what exact revisions of mplayer and x264 do you have? im on mplayer r22189 and x264 r622. im compiled in mingw/msys with gcc 4.3.0 and optimized for core2

EDIT: Im updating my builds now and im going to run a test. x264 is still at r622 so im keeping that. as for mplayer im going to r22207 however just quickly looking at the changes between 22189 (my current ver) and that one, nothing seems different either in mplayer or the ffmpeg libs. ill post up later on today once i get some results

its look like im not alone:rolleyes:
yeah just tried celtic_druid 20070210 p4 build,
also crash:p

@morph166955 : i always update the mplayer/x264 svn code before i compile it,
r22207 and x264 r622,
its only crash in mencoder,
x264 in ffmpeg and the x264.exe are not affected.
