I have a chance to buy a new MyHD model 130 HDTV card at a very good price, and I'm tempted, but I've read in different places on the web people are having problems with recording analog OTA television and capturing analog sources. I don't know enough about the card to know whether this is really a problem with the card, or whether they are using the manufacturer-supplied software which doesn't work properly.
I have some laserdiscs and videotapes I want to archive, so the analog capture function is important to me. Analog off the air recording interests me less -- I think only one station in the area doesn't broadcast in HDTV yet -- but still the option would be nice.
Can this card be used to capture analog inputs like VHS or laserdisc in normal interlaced fashion, and save on hard disc in a relatively uncompressed format (so as not to tax the CPU, because I don't have a fast computer) which can be IVTC'd or deinterlaced if necessary and compressed to a nice MPEG2 file at a later time?
I just hate the idea of buying another card just for analog capture. If anyone has experience with this card for analog capture, positive or negative, I would appreciate input.
