I do not know if anyone else has experienced this problem, but I seem to be getting it more and more. I received a DVD rip in two parts, DivX :) .avi files. I attempt to convert them to VCD via TMPG (What else :). Just at the end of the file, the video will 'freeze', but TMPG will continue to convert 'something'. It will go on like that for hours and completley overwhelm my pathetic H/D. I thought perhaps the .avi had a stuck/bad frame or something, but all the utilities I used said the file was fine. I had run into this problem in the past and assumed that I had done something wrong or the file was messed up, so I just deleted them. Well, for lack of a better idea, and having some time on my hands, I loaded the file into VDub, set audio and video on direct stream copy and saved the .avi. In the end, it dropped about 2MB off the new file (I can't tell what I lost, so it must not be important) but the important thing is, TMPG now converts it trouble free. So. To make a long post short. If anyone else has experienced this problem, try what I did, it might work. Thanks for reading my rambling.
