Hello everybody,

I posted this thread a few times in differnet german forum but I could not solve the Problem yet. I hope to find some people here who have the same problem and perhaps a solution for it. Sorry for my englisch I will trty my best :-)

Preparation: For each decoding test I use a new setup system which I backed up via image. It’s a XP Pro with SP2 and only the drivers. No other software and codecs.

1) First Test I wanted to use the new CoreAVC 1.2. (It’s still my favourite cause I think the quality is much better then e.g the cyberlink has). I tried four different splitter. And for playing I used the Graphedit and MPC

- Elecard (latest Xmuxer Pro in trial version): Unfortunately can not connect to the CoreAVC.
- HDTvPump: Can Play almost evry file except of this one I attached at the end.
- Opensource Mpeg Splitter. Could play every file but with an warning in ffdshow. (Not every data is supporte (something like this)) but it played every file. The problem is that when I want to use it for the attached file then I have to deregister the standard Mpeg-2 splitter otherwise this one is used.
- Haali played not have of the files. No idea but was definitely not working proper.

2) I tried the latest Cyberlink H.264 Decoder from Powerdvd 7
- Was pretty good in playing with the elecard but unfortunately the quality was pretty poor. I have an full HD TV and this was definitely not the best result.
- HDTV pump: Same as with CoreAVC but poor quality
- Opensource: Same as CoreAVC but pretty slow in starting the vid. Less quality then CoreAVC
- Haali: Didn’t try it at all

Well ahs anybody here an idea which filter to use and get a high quality? Thank you very much for any information

Regards,

Alex

This is no Transport Stream it's a Program Stream, seems your recording app did wrong here.
If you wan't the highest visual quality you should use ffdshow and set it to rgb32 and high quality
same quality but faster would be Elecards Decoder with High Quality Chroma (only works accelerated)
also CoreAVC with RGB32 gives a little better chroma upsampling, but not as good as the quality of FFDshow or Elecard's Decoder.

Thank you very much. So the stream cannot be used as a reference if the codecs work properly. That's good news otherwise there would have gone anything wrong with my system. So I will delete it.

Concerning the decoding I did'n understand all of your answer. You mean FFDshow as a post processor or as decoder. I tried ffdshow a few times but there are so many releases and that one I used always had problems with playing. Anyway it had an error when trying to connect with elecard splitter, or whbich splitter did you use.

The other Decoder, the elecard one. You mean using that decoder together with the elecard splitter, do you? As I mentioned I really would like to use the elecard splitter but unfortunately this could not connect to the CoreAVC. But when the elecard decoder is comparible to the CoreAVC (or even better) then I will try this one.

Thanks again for your answer

once you have a normal .ts file, you can use coreavc or ffdshow with the haali or gabest ts parsers

of course you can also use videolan or mplayer

Hello,

thanks again for answer.

aali or gabest ts parsers

What is the gabest TS parser. Is that the Opensource Mpeg Splitter. The Mpeg Splitter works fine so far but has an error in Graphedit. With HDTVpump it works without an error but could not play the attached file.

Thin I will try the HDTvpunp

Hello everybody,

sorry for annoying you with that topic but I do not find a working solution. The problem is the decoder. The Elecard Demuxer works absolutly fine with TS Files. (opensoure Splitter has problems and also HDTVPump) But this Elecard Demuxxer only wants to connect to the Cyberlink which has a poor quality. So I wanted to try the elecard decoder but I did not find a working decoder on the elecard site. There are only 3 plugins (For Muxxer, DVDPlayer and MpegPlayer). After installing the trial there's no Directshow elecard Decoder avaiable. I then also tried the mainconcept 2.1 Encoder but this one only caused problems.

I just want to play these TS files with an good quality but there's absolutly no way to get it working. The same with ffdshow. There's noc chance to connect to elecard splitter.

Please if someone has any idea help me with that problem (Think otherwise I will kick out these PC :-) )

Thanks a lot

Alex

Try renaming the file from TS to MPG and then use Gabest splitter and CoreAVC to decode. If your problem is filter chaos (filters fighting for priority) you should have a look at Zoom Player Pro, which has very powerfull filter controls.

For the TS demuxer, if u havn't find one satisfied, i recommend the projectX, it's works well.

Hello everybody,

sorry for the late answer. I was busy the last days. Problem is solved so far. I bought the latest CoreAVC together with the Haali Splitter. I could not believe that this works fine with all my trailers in Zoom Player Pro, but it does.

Thanks again for your help

Alex

aba101280, please tell me exactly how you set up Zoom Player, CoreAVC, and the Haali Splitter. I have been tearing out my hair trying to get these three to work to play a H.264, TS file. It just won't work for me.

Graphedt is a no-go, too. Can't connect the file (Haali) to CoreAVC no matter what I do.

@joikd

For ZoomPlayer set-up you may want to try the software forum at www.abhdtv.net

Make sure you have the newest versions of ZP (v5) and CoreAVC, then it should be simple.
