Anybody anticipate if these formats ever reach us those who can hardly afford it

The Current Packages available to Sound engineers and studios who can afford it is Dolby Media Producer on MAC G5.
and DTS HD Master Audio Suite:) :)
By the way this may be a silly question What other Multichannel "Open source" formats are available?:confused: :thanks:
"Open source" or either easily available and widely used on the pc platform like 5.1 aac does it go up to 96kHz or 7.1;):cool::rolleyes:

mp3 and ogg can do multichannel. wav can do it too, of course.
mp3 aud-x,
oggenc. (I think)

aac can be multichannel too
