I can't seem to use IFOEDIT to remux smoothly. The picture always seems to stopped at several points for a few miliseconds randomly, the audio is fine though.

My steps are :
1. copy exactly the DVD to the HD to a directory (named A directory)
2. fire up REMPEG and reduce the bitrate to about 70% (I use the .cffl file)
3. Use IFOEDIT to open original main movie IFO and then do a re-mux, strip, correct VOB & tables, unchecked the 'create video_ts' and dumped it to a new directory.
4. copy the rest to the new directory excluding the ifo, vob and bup for the main movie.
5. Checked using WinDVD, the menu works fine except when I played the main movie, I found this problem.

I use the latest version of Smartripper, IFOEDIT and have followed every steps in Derrow's page but still this problem. I wonder if I made a mistake in the REMPEG settings somehow. Can anybody tell me what's the correct settings in REMPEG for this to work? I want to 720x480 so I checked that, and Frame mode?, reference/integer?, search technique?, calculate PSNR?

Please help.

thanks

I've just put a guide, on using ReMPEG2 to transcode a movie on my site:
http://mpucoder.kewlhair.com/Derrow/rempeg.html

There you will see also, the options I use for transocding a movie.
So check it out please, and validated with the steps, you did.

Dear Derrow,

The setting you put on your guide is exactly the same setting I used to encode the movie except that I checked "show RC info", but that wouldn't make any difference would it? The movie I converted was "Tomb Raider" region one, and I'm using Ifoedit 0.76. One question though, when I clicked on VOB Extras and select everything but Strip VobID's and Create new Video&Vts.ifo should that do everything already or should I reopen the new IFOs in the new directory and click recreate tables/correct vobs again ?

thanks!

Your selection in Vob Extras was perfect.
All you have to do after it, is reopen the new created IFO files, and press the button 'Get VTS Sectors', before burning it to DVD.

Did you forgot to do that?

Hi Derrow,

I solved the problem. You see I never burned it to a DVDRW and only checked with WinDVD 3.0 which then I found the problem. I even open the individual VOB files directly using WinDVD and still see the problem in the exact same seconds.

But when I try opening it with PowerDVD XP, the entire compilation worked perfectly! So, I don't know if somehow my WinDVD instalation is screwed, or even WinDVD itself has a bug.

Thanks a lot Derrow for all your help. You've made my life soo much easier with IFOEDIT! It's a great program and you're the MAN!

Hey Bru, not to sound negative but you are creating work here....Tomb Raider reg 1 fits on DVD-R just fine if you get rid of the trailers (actually I'm not sure I even had to do that)

Yes Beaups, actually you're right.
I'm just curious and want to do a bitrate reduction using Derrow's ifoedit.

thanks.

What a coecsident.
I copied Tomb Raider yesterday too.
But it was a Region 2 version, and I had to get Rid off some streams, to burn it to DVD-R.
