anyone tried this utility here to pause and resume x264 encoding?

Using the command line x264.exe of course. How would it do I wonder? Cause I've tried setting the process to low priority and still can't watch some videos here properly.

have a look at process explorer. It's a replacement for the default windows task manager, and includes this functionality as well as many other bits & pieces.
