Hi, I have just installed Scenarist 3.1 on VISTA Ultimate 32 bit RTM. First thing you notice, after a restart, is that it knocks out you DVD drive and your DLT drive, a quick search on google of the error code in device manager reveals a quick registery fix and after a restart they are back working correctly in device manager. The only trouble is that Scenarist wont see the DLT drive in Layout Editor, Premastering. In the target device you can see the DVDR drive but not the DLT. I have tried installing the ASPI but it fails to install, I have tried manually palcing the winaspi32.dll in various locations, ie, windows/sysatem32/drivers, but with no change. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I can see the DLT drive from in Scenarist?

Kind regards,
Kev.

I too would like to write to DLT from Scenarist under Vista. Could a solution lie in updating one of the DLL's that reside in the Scenarist program folder to a Vista compatible version? I suggest this mainly because that is the solution to burning DVD's directly from Scenarist under Vista (replacing the supplied WNASPI32.DLL with 'Frog ASPI (http://www.frogaspi.org/)').

The problem must be due to a change in the way SCSI devices are seen between XP and Vista; can anybody shed any general light on this? I think we're going to have to come up with a solution ourselves, or just stick to XP... I doubt Sonic are that motivated to update Scenarist 3.1 further now that they have the HD product line to concentrate on.

As an aside, I had used Gear Pro Mastering to convert Scenarists ISO Image files to DDP2.0 format and then write to DLT in the past. Does anyone know if this produces an equally compliant DLT and if doing it this way has any pitfalls?

SpeedyRazor, DVD writing should work under Vista. Were you using 'Frog ASPI (http://www.frogaspi.org/)'? This is a replacement ASPI DLL designed for backwards compatibility under Vista.
