Hi.
Seeing the new formats of video (Blu-ray & HD-DVD), I would like to talk of a possible idea that I thought. Would be result very useful, for someone wants to begin of development (I can't for many reasons, but is an idea, for someone that could).

It's about a software (like DVDShrink) to copy multiple DVDs to new Discs (Blu-Ray & HD-DVD), like security copy without lost quality (without compression), and keeping all menus & all features (using a previous menu to choose the selected DVD). All made automatically. (First all the DVDs must be ripped in the Hard Disk).

Would be right if it would be able to choose the next options (with an example of the extended version of LOTR of 12 dvds, forget the total size, I supposed that all DVDs can be introduced in a HD-DVD or Blu-ray, and I know that it can't):

1) Possibility of put a menu for choose the DVD that you want to play (entering in your own originall menu) WITHOUT lost any menu of each dvd.

Egg Menu:

CHOOSE

LOTR1DVD1
LOTR1DVD2
EXTRAS1DVD1
EXTRAS1DVD2

LOTR2DVD1
LOTR2DVD2
EXTRAS2DVD1
EXTRAS2DVD2

LOTR3DVD1
LOTR3DVD2
EXTRAS2DVD1
EXTRAS2DVD2

2) Possibility of join 2 DVDs if the movie is in 2 separate discs (like LOTR, each one of three movies, have 2 dvds):

Egg menu:

CHOOSE

LOTR1
EXTRAS1DVD1
EXTRAS1DVD2

LOTR2
EXTRAS2DVD1
EXTRAS2DVD2

LOTR3
EXTRAS3DVD1
EXTRAS3DVD2

3) If would be necessary, add the possibility to remove language tracks, or sections, in the same way that DVDShrink, but without compression.

Would be very very well...

Sorry for my poor english.

Greetings.

Would would be sweet is if you could just rip to iso and store multiple images which the HD player could mount. (as one option)

Yes I repeat the post, because is too interesting in both sections.

Respect the mounted ISOs, it's so good, but 2) and 3) features, wouldn't be possible. And I think that this is impossible, but if an application could make a pre-menu to access for the next menus, we obtain this.
For the 1) I think that would be result:
1) Renaming the files .vob, .ts ... etc... to join all the files of the DVDs in one superbig new structure and making that the structure WORKS PROPERLY too.
2) Linking the menus in a pre-menu.

I don't know how, but if it is possible, could be cool!
To someone that understand this and knows (very good) about DVD structure, Is it possible?

I found this: http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=4170

So it does not seem to be possible to keep the original menus and the original file system on the DVD's. Everything has to be re-authored. However you can keep the original video and audio streams so you should not loose any quality.
