View Full Version : Configuring virtualdub

Hi all
I'd like to know if there is way of forcing Virtualdub to keep my settings. For example, I like to work with:
Directdraw enabled
Input/output panes swapped
No input video displayed

I use vdub a lot, so it's becoming an extreme pain to have to first go through a little cosmetics session every time I want to start working.

Any ideas?
thanks

click on File and choose Save Processing Settings

When you reopen vdub, click on file and Load Processing Settings

Hi FreQi
Thanks for the suggestion.
I've tried it, doesn't work. Load and Save processing settings are for codec / filter settings, not for general virtual dub cosmetics.

Any other ideas?

I think that in menu "option", there is a button "save option".
Try it

Bye

Hi ^ogro^

Thanks for your suggestion.

There is no "Save options" button under the options menu. There is a preferences section, but this only deals with specific vdub options like default processing mode etc. Preferences does not handle cosmetics.

Any other ideas?

I looked at the Sylia scripting language. There don't seem to be any commands for the options you mentioned. So I guess the only way to do it would be to hack VD itself.

Hi Steady

Thanks for your input.

That's what I was afraid of. Oh well. I guess I'll just have to weigh up the annoyance factor versus the time involved in building my own version of vdub .... and the annoyance factor wins. I don't have the energy. Besides, I code in Java, not C, so it would be greek to me.

I've also been trying to figure this out as well. I'd like for my performance settings to be saved but it doesn't seem like there is a way for this to occur.

Anyone know the source well enough to hack it? Wishful thinking I suppose.

NanDub has the input and output panes vertically oriented and IIRC the output is on top - the most logical way to have them IMHO.

So I'd reckon Nando knows how to do what we want.

Anyone know Nando well enuf?
