Hi

I've already put this in subtitles but seing how i'm using a Mac this might be the right place. So to my problem:

I've been trying to rip Ju-On for days now so that i can view it in Front Fow. All is good but the subtitles.

For some reason the subtitles where not possible to rip from the DVD so i downloaded a .sub file and synced it using TitleLab. Titlelab can only export as a Quicktime .txt subtitle file.

Then I added the subtitle to Quicktime but when i added it the result was unsmooth playback. Choppy at parts with a lot of motion.

So then i tried to play the original out of sync .sub file with VLC. There was some warning about FTP but the sub still worked. But it was out of sync.

I've gone through pretty much every possibility and i came to the conclusion that this is impossible. :sly:

If anyone would have ANY suggestions I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

PS. To make things more difficult, i'm on a Mac

why couldn't you rip the subs from the dvd?

They just wouldn't appear for some reason. I tried with other movies and they worked fine in Handbrake, but with Ju-On there would be no subtitles. There are however subtitles on the dvd.

Hi!

Perhaps they've used (if I remember correctly) Line 21 "Closed captioning" instead of conventional subtitle streams...

That might be. Is there a way to rip the closed captioning subs? (with a OSX app)

thx
