WinDVD and playing VOB's from the HDD

Is there a way to make WinDVD play VOB's from the HDD in 16.9 mode, it always plays them in 4.3 mode for me.

Try to resize the window manually, for full screen use an auto-resizer (dvdgenie's zoom).

But I don't think windvd is the good way for playing dvds on HD... Try Fusionsoft DVD or ATI player (if you can make it work on your system...). Both are able to emulate a "real" dvd on HD, with menus & interactivity. And they're fine DVD players too...

if you copy the complete dvd to c:\video_ts and select c: as dvd drive in windvd it will play just fine.
