When i play my mp2 file created by cce from my avi at the same time i open up my original avi, i noticed that the mp2 moves faster, within a minute its already a few seconds ahead of the original avi.
Im using CCE 2.70.02.10
What setting in cce,or what else could be causing this?!?!

my bet is on your playback software. directshow is so wildly variable that there's no telling what it'll do.

perhaps you have reclock installed and its speeding the m2v to match your monitor's refresh rate? maybe you have an mpeg splitter that's not behaving itself?

we'll probably need more information...

I have none of that software installed.
I have tested these videos with vlcplayer, dvdlab preview and jetaudio, nothing fluctuates between them.
I just tried reencoding the video with cce - CBR selected this time instead of VBR video and still same result.
I encoded the same avi with canopus to authoring files also and it ended up coming out at exactly the same pace as the original avi.
So i think its clearly some type of cce setting...?

well i tried with ccesp2 and its pace rate is fine, it seems cce was only recognizing part of the frames and length and ccesp2 recognizes full frames & length, just need to find a way to tweak settings for optimal quality..
any recommendations ??

maybe you selected the wrong frame rate accidentally in CCE?

i have compared cce to ccesp2 settings side by side and the only thing i notice is different is in ccesp2 there is a new setting *Rate Conv* that i have checked(still in both 29.97 is selected), so im guessing that allowed it to read this avi correctly.. so to me clearly sp2 has a big addition over sp to be able to recognize some files correctly, unless anyone has some more insight..?
