I bought the Lord of the Rings trilogy (widescreen, non-extended version, NTSC) when it came out at an official Target store. I used DVD Shrink to decrypt the first two movies and store them as ISO's on my hard drive with no problem but DVD Shrink failed when trying to backup Return of the King. I have tried DVDFab Decrypter 3.0.3.8 and DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 but neither has worked. I also tried RipIt4Me 1.5.5.0 but may have done something wrong with that. Has anyone else successfully ripped this exact movie? If so, what software did you use?

Hi!
What was the EXACT wording of the error message generated by DVD Shrink?

I had no troubles at all ripping each of the three LotR movies with DVD Decrypter.

This is what I got on DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15.
DVD Shrink encountered and error and cannot continue.
Failed to read file "E:\"
Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

That specific message is indicative of one of two things:
1) A dirty or scratched disc - Try cleaning it
2) An "ARccOS" copy protected disc - This New Line Home Entertainment release is NOT the case for the DVDs in this set
Therefore, after cleaning it, if it still generates a "CRC" error in DVD Shrink, I'd suggest that you return the set to Target in exchange for a replacement set...

I had no problems with any of the LOTR discs. Although, at the time was using DvDxcopy, but I'm sure ri4m shouldn't have any problems I agree with setarip clean them really good if not return them. Hope it helps.
