Hi..I am a newbie at backing up movies and recently i've found out some problems backing up some cartoon dvds, like iceage2 and cars, I own. The dvds I have are region three and they usually contain multipleangles in certain scenes to show newspaper, signs in different languages. This gave problems to the tools like dvd-shrink and dvd-r i used b4. Shrink had no problem creating the dvd but when i played it on my sony player, the parts with multipleangles lag and freezes my player~ Can someone point me a direction in backingup these movies? I don't mind only backing up a copy with one angle and the movie onli~ :)
(p.s. sorri for my bad english)

You must decide whether you want to transcode the video or re-encode. Re-encode will take longer but give a better result. Either the 'Big 3' guide or DVD-RB will work for you. The difference? DVD-RB allows certain parts to be removed, or extras on the discs turned to slideshows etc. The 'Big 3' was designed to be a complete backup.

Hi!
Try ripping your DVD(s) using the easy to use "RipIt4me" package (Incorporates RipIt4Me, DVD Decrypter, FixVTS, and DVD Shrink). You can download this excellent freeware from:
www.ripit4me.org
While you're at that site, read the excellent "how to" tutorial...

Have a look at the guide for keeping only one angle below
http://www.dvdr-digest.com/articles/40_1.html
although I think RI4me can handle it from the source itself.

hi!
setarip_old i have a question...what is Ripit4me for??? I used it on my dvd but i dun get the usage with the angles. I found out that some of them worked with Ripit4me but one of them didn't work! I even tried the guide with IFOedit but somehow the angle strip button didn't appear to let me use it~ could you guys point me another way to backup? Is it possible to just strip the whole movie out with only one angle so that i could shrink it or rebuild it? Thanks for the help so far~ I really learned alot and appreciate it
