I tried to archive "Monster House" using pgcedit but it failed to decrypt VTS_01 segment 22. The program states that if you are still getting errors then it is the fault of your drive, or a scratched or dirty DVD and to reprocess the files.

I checked the DVD and cleaned it, even though it was not dirty, but it still fails on VTS_01 segment 22.

Is anyone else having this problem with pgcedit? I have version 7.3 but have upgraded to 7.4

Try ripping your DVD(s) using the easy to use "RipIt4me" package. You can download this excellent freeware from:

www.ripit4me.org

While you're at that site, read the excellent "how to" tutorial...

I was getting errors using ripit4me on this movie. I had to run anydvd in the background while running ripit... that worked great!

Since AnyDVD modifies IFO files on the fly (and VOBs), it is definintely not a good idea to use it with RipIt4Me.

The program tries to kill it, if you have it on.

More to the point, didn't AnyDVD work?

RipIt4Me was the key to getting "Monster House" to archive. Thanks for the advise.

On some, well most I can just use anydvd, and nero, or shrink. There are some cases where it fails. Running it with ripit4me seems to work very well. And I have yet to have a single play back problem with any that I have used them together.
The same seems to go for ripit4me. Most movies rip fine, but there are some times when I just get errors, and cannot rip. Using ripit4me, while anydvd is running seems to solve every problem I have ever had. Since I started running them together when needed. I have yet to find a movie of mine wich I have not been able to rip/burn uing one, or the other or both together. ;)
