When I do a Anime Ghost in the Shell
it shows that it's 16:9
but when it's doing auto AR it makes it to 4:3
I watched the DGindex and it shows in there also 16:9
so why is autogk changing it to 4:3 ?
Using 2.35 beta

When you open the ifo, does it suggest the video is 16:9? Pressing ctrl+F9 when an ifo is loaded, you can select an aspect ratiio which will override other options.
Sometimes a movie looks like it's 16:9 but it's actually 4:3 with black borders. That may not necessarily be the case here but I have known it to happen.

it shows at the top that it's MPEG2 16:9
When it's preprocessing it says in DGindex also 16:9
but the program makes it 4:3
I did override it to let it be original so now it's fine.
but it's weird though.
I looked on the cover from the DVD and it says
that is Anamorphic (lol cant spell it right)
maybe that's why?

a-na-mor-fic or is it a-na-mor-thic ? :D
You can make a search on the word here in Domm9 or on Google or search Seemoredigital posts and signature, I think he made a digest on his pages

What container are you using? If you're using AVI it doesn't support anamorphic video so you will have to use matroska (which is better anyway). Download mkvtoolnix and open mkvmerge GUI and open your AVI file, it should detect all streams and load them. Select the video stream, set the aspect ratio to 16:9 and then mux it. It should now play back as 16:9.

If you have a video with a wrong AR, most software player can force your specified AR anyway. I know VLC and Nero showtime can force AR, so container doesn't matter if the software can do it.

ok, tried several other ones, and they all have the same problem.
16:9 becomes 4:3
It seems to happen with DGindex
I know the new DGindex is writing the files different
wonder if thats the problem. will try a older version like 2.30, as long as it has the older version of dgindex
I know other programs that are using the new version are having a problem too.
