1. I would like to know the setting you would use for highest quality video at or under 1gig in size. Source being DVD quality video.
I've been backing up DVD video by encoding them using the hdtv avc codec. I normally use the default setting except for always using 2-pass, Decission quality set to High, motion vectors set to the 255, and 8x8 transform on. I also encode up to 1gig in size which is usually 1-1.5mb bitrate.
2. I am considering using a mac mini or a macbook as a portable HTPC, using front row. I know that it uses quicktime for playback so I need to know what Nero Digital AVC settings I can use and the movie still be playable in quicktime.
