Can someone explain to me why some of my movies when converted to h264 using megui seem to stutter in first few chapters of the converted movie but plays fine after those first few chpters?

I'm using ZP with FFDshow with certain avisyth filters that seem to cause this stuttering slow down in the beginning of the movie only. The rest of the movie plays perfect. Shouldn't
these filters make the WHOLE movie stutter? I've tried using Nvidia and Dscaler decoders and it doesn't make any difference.

Try with coreavc... however it may be an audio decoder issue as well (volume normalizing filters...)

Thanks I'll give it a try.

Hmm if i use CoreAVC then I can't use resizing or ffdshow...correct?

You can, as long as ffdshow is set to decode 'raw' formats in the codecs list.

Under codecs I have all supported
selected under RAW VIDEO.

I'm unsure which ffdshow filter I'm suppose to use in ZP>Filter Control>Customized Media Playback>Audio Video Decoders>H264 Configure Decoders page. When I click on add filter there are two ffdshow video fiters availble: which do I use?
"ffdshow MPEG-4 Video Decoder" and "ffdshow raw video filter"? That's question number 1. #2 in the ZP...H264 Configure Decoders page do I need both video decoders ffdshow and CoreAVC?

Currently I have "ffdshow MPEG-4 Video Decoder" as the filter. So what I want is to have the use of Resize and Avisynth (with the filters I need for denoising and sharpeing)in ffdshow and have smooth playback in those first few chapters using H264. After the same exact chapters play the rest of the movie is very smooth everytime...???

thanks

I must be missing something or don't understand what you mean exactly by the above. I'm trying to find the setting as you describe it but can't seem to find it. Could you be more specific.

All supported is the correct setting, sorry. I'm not sure why it wouldn't work, it gets loaded into the graph, right? Then you'd just need to right click on it, open it from the filters menu, enable resizing and avisynth, and then reload the video again. If it doesn't show up in the graph even with raw enabled, I'm not sure what to do. =\
