Source:
25fps AVI @ 560x304

Final Result
29.97fps MPEG-2 @ 704x480

The 25>29.97 is done AFTER the encode using DGPulldown so I don't have to re-encode the audio.

With that said, will I have to alter the subtitles in any way? Or will they stay intact and in perfect sync?

I have the subs in idx/sub format and I've used SubToSup to demux all the substreams.

I think you need to change the frame rate of the idx/sub with vobsub cutter.

That's it?

Anyone else know definitively what to do?

Compare the final durations of your clips. If they are exactly the same, you should be able to use the same subtitles.

However you may have to change the position of your subtitles.

First make your DVD. Then use DVDSubedit to change the position of your subtitles.

Isn't DVDSubEdit tailored for editing subs within VOB files?

Well I found out DVDSubEdit can also open up .sup subtitle files as well as VOB files.

But what I ended up doing was authoring my dvd like normal with MuxMan, then opening up the VOBs into DVDSubEdit and made changes accordingly. The subs came out in perfect sync but due to the PAL>NTSC video resolution change the subs got cut off so all I had to do was raise them vertically by 60 and apply it to all and the subs showed perfectly.

Shame it took me so long to figure out that CTRL+A would bring up the APPLY TO ALL button. That option in DVDSubEdit should be on the main screen somewhere!
