I ripped 8Below with DVDFab and with DVDD/FixVTS and prepared both in DVDRB Pro. I selected Movies and Menus Only. The rip with DVDD requires compression to 55.3%.

The rip with DVDFab requires compression to only 61.4%.

- Why is that?

- Does that make sense?

- Can one infer anything about the comparative quality of the rips from that?

- Can one infer anything about the quality of an encode/rebuild with DVDRB from that?

No - With DVD Rebuilder (http://dvd-rb.dvd2go.org/), you can blank out unwanted segments and audio streams anyway.
