Ripped a movie w/ DVDD and the tray cycled so it had some bad sectors. I had previously cleaned the disk w/ IKlear.

Unchecked "tray cycling", polished the disk with Preen Wood Floor Cleaner/Wax and ripped it again. The rip was reported good.

Got the attached screenshot following error when I tried to open with DVDShrink.

I never had a problem opening a movie with Shrink that had ripped OK w/ DVDD.

Any advice or recommendations appreciated.

The movie is 8 Below and this is the second copy of the same movie I've tried. The first one had a big scratch in it so I thought that might be the problem. It is a Disney Movie.

I may be wrong, but I think 8 Below has Ripguard/ARccOS and you will need an advanced ripper (this error message is symptomatic of that, anyway).

Or at the minimum, put the rip thru FixVTS.

Hi b,

Thanks for those advisements. I'm trying DVDFab and FixVTS on seperate computers.

Shrink is reading the Fab rip now. VTS is still working.

I also started trying running the rip though Rebuilder Pro with no compression as I read somewhere that might make it readable by Shrink, but it seemed to be taking a very long time and I thought there might be something wrong. Does RB take a long time to process a feature length rip when using no compression?

DVD Rebuilder (http://dvd-rb.dvd2go.org/) won't accept it - the rip is not good. You really need to remove the RG/Arccos. A full run in RipIt4Me (http://www.ripit4me.org/) will do the trick, for sure.

You are correct Blutach. "Eight Below" has Ripguard protection, at least for NTSC R1.

Found & removed wrong DVD structure!
Found & removed Macrovision RipGuard protection!
Found & removed error zones between files!
Found & removed invalid VOBUs!
Found & removed invalid program from program chain!
Found & removed 2 bad sector protections!

Hi, I did that and it seemed to do the trick. I wound up with some Unreferenced material which went away after I ran the output through VobBlanker. I also used VobBlanker to remove some Extras and then I used Menu Shrink, and after backing up with DVD Shrink I the Movie came out good but the Menu and the Extras I kept are not showing up. But I suppose that is another issue.

Maybe you were in Movie only mode in DVDRB. Post in the Rebuilder forum for help.
