what is the format i can use to burn my subtitles to my dvd ?

i use Subtitle Workshop to my works is that good?
and i always use suprip format but it doesn't show up in my dvd when I convert from avi to dvd by WinAVI Video Converter

what is the best format to use it ?:confused:

I am afraid it's hard to find a converter that can support suprip format .Such as Xilisoft Converter,what I am using,is also can't do that.:(

SubtitleCreator can be used to add srt or sub subtitles to an existing DVD. Tools->DVD authoring wizard.
