how to idx/sub --> srt ?

the sticky tells me how to do it the other way round, but I need to get a rt file out of a sub/idx file, so how can I do that ?

another question, when using direct vobsub is it possible either to change the text size or the colour of the show text with a srt or sub/idx file ? I know with vlc I can at least increase the text size of a srt file a bit.

Sub/Idx is a bitmap format. Srt is a text format. If you want to transform some sub/idx to srt you must OCR them.

To do it, you can use Sybresync. Open your idx file. Choose Save As, in the Type: list choose srt, click on Save and the OCR process will start.

For the color of the vobsub file, you can edit the values under the "# The palette of the generated file" and/or "# Custom colors (transp idxs and the four colors)" lines and give it a try.

Or you can also use SubRip exactly the same way as if you were ripping directly from VOB files. Instead of load VOB, load de idx/sub file.
