I'm using the latest version of Ripit4Me and FIXVTS to rip The Breakup and Click. But I"m having major problems. When it creates the .psl file, and it tries to import it in DVD Decrypter, I get the error
"This is the .psl file for The Breakup, it doesn't appear to be for this disc". If I try to continue ripping the dvd, at about 2% the dvd ejects for a second then pops back in, then tries to continue ripping. I then get another error pop up
"I/O Error, Device DVD Rom, Interpretation : Check Condition, then points to a number of sectors and gives then says L-EC Uncorrectable Error".
I can then Abort, Cancel, or Retry. Retry just keeps retrying and doesn't get anywhere. I get the exact same problem for Click. I've tried both Movie only and Full DVD.

Hi!
This, indeed, seems unusual. I've used the "RipIt4Me" package successfully to rip the Region 1 versions of both of these DVDs.
Have you previously successfully used "RipIt4Me" with other DVD Titles?
Both of those error messages are being generated by DVD Decrypter. Prior to the advent of "RipIt4Me", the mismatched PSL error would appear when someone tried to apply an already created (by someone else) PSL2 to a different version of the same Title (SONY would apply different copy protection schemes to different region releases, for-sale copies, rental copies, "rated" versus "unrated" versions, etc.).
Try cleaning the DVDs.
Try running a DVD/CD cleaning disc on your drive. Maxell makes one that sells for approximately $10US.
Try using an earlier version of "RipIt4Me"

The DVD's are brand new, so I don't think I need to clean them.
The .psl file was generated by Ripit4Me. It was the only file there in the folder.
First time using it. Where do I find earlier versions?

@DigitalDivide
Why don't you try using the One Click Mode and see if that works?

In the preferences of ripit4me - perhaps change the setting for copying ifos to something else than the current setting.

Well, I downloaded a previous version of RipIt4Me and I was able to load in the PSL file successfully for both DVD's.
But I now ran into another problem. I opened up the movies in DVD Shrink and ripped out the movies only. Which play perfectly fine. I think decided to try to create a project file with DGIndex but I get a delay of 8700ms or some such large number. When you use MeGui and select the Audio AC3 audio track both movies come up with an error which unfortantely I didn't write down because it was huge. I tried to encode anyhow to mkv-264. After the encode the audio is way out of synch. It's definitely something wrong with the movie. I've used my exact same settings for almost 200 movies and never had this many problems with a dvd.
So the question is how do I figure out what the delay should be? I did try a few times to generate the d2v file, but I always get the same delay.

Sounds like you didn't use the "FixVTS" step...

Do run FixVTS and also remove all tiny cells. If tiny cells remain, edit them out with PgcEdit (http://www.videohelp.com/~r0lZ/pgcedit/index.html) and run FixVTS over that domain again. Perhaps even a full IfoEdit (http://ifoedit.wh.fr0zen.com/) mock strip might be in order.
The reason for the wacky audio delays is that Ripguard has no audio in the tiny cells, but rippers assume continuous audio and video streams.

I did run FixVTS as part of Ripit4Me. Now that I have the ouputted files from DVDShrink what's the best way to clean this up? Can I simply run FIXVTS on each VOB? I don't see an option in FIXVTS for Tiny Cells.

I don't see an option in FIXVTS for Tiny Cells. That's a checkbox in "RipIt4Me" (After ripping by DVD Decrypter)...

I'd like to save some time and not rerip. Is there a way I can take my ripped output now and run it through something like PGCeDit? If so what exactly do I do in PGCEdit? I ran FIXVTS on the output but I ended up with the same delay when creating the project file.

Open the rip in PgcEdit (http://www.videohelp.com/~r0lZ/pgcedit/index.html). Navigate to the main title and double click on it.
The Pgc Editor will open. Use the remove cells feature to remove all tiny cells at the start.
OK and save (the time map will be rebuilt).
Then run Tools - FixVTS (current domain).

Don't forget to give a good old restart a try when problems arise. Sometimes it can do wonders.

Guess what, I have just had exactly the same messages and initial inspection of the DVD led me to believe that the problem was with DD or R4Me. I was tearing my hair out until I read this thread. A very carefull look at the DVD with a magnifying glass showed up a small indent in the outer rim. I love this site!
