View Full Version : how to use ripit4me on dvd files on harddisk ?

I have a problem, I basically have a complete dvd on harddisk and want to run ripit4me now on it, to have the main title + main audio tracks chosen only and also having the cd cleaned up with fixvts afterwards, but I can only choose cd/dvd drives as source there. since I want to make a 2 cd file out of that movie, I dont want to burn the complete files on a dvd so I could rip them from there, because that would basically destroy my purpose to have them encoded and burned then to save space; when I already have them burned I could as well just keep them as they are.
I already though of mounting them with daemon tools, but daemon tools can only mount images and stuff, but no other files or directories.

any idea what I could do ?

Hi!

By far, the simplest way to accomplish what you want is to just re-rip your original, commercial DVD with the "RipIt4me" package...

But, if that's the case, you might want to re-read the rules of this forum and, particularly, the "ANNOUNCEMENT" at the top of this "Decrypting" sub-forum:

Hi Thunderbolt8! :)

Use free ImgBurn 2.1.0.0 and create an ISO image from the dvd on your harddisk,
mount that ISO image with for example free Virtual Clone Drive 5.1.4.5 and then
you can use free RipIt4Me 1.5.3.0 to do whatever you need to do... easy as pie... :)

ImgBurn 2.1.0.0 found here:

Virtual Clone Drive 5.1.4.5 found here:

well I thought it was implied in my text. considering that rule case, I wasnt saying that I need to rip/crack etc. anything illegal. i was just asking how to get dvd files from my harddisk into ripit4me. the rest is just not a matter of the discussion.

Thanks
just one more question: since I only want to have this files on harddisk, do I have to use the layerbreak thing (has it any advantages/disadvantages when not using it later on when re-ripping & cleaning up with ripit4me) ?

If you do not have the original DVD, it is illegal. And no one can help you with your problem. If you have the original DVD, that is alright.

of course I have the original dvd. I just lend it a friend atm (who is now on hollidays for some time), but made a full dvd rip with dvd decrypter before I gave it to him, because I wanted to make that 2cd encode. unfortunately I just forgot to use ripit4me/fixvts respectively to clean the disc up and now my problem is I cant do it afterwards any more, because they require the files in a cd drive and my cd is not available atm. thats what is all about. I just hate all that BS "if you dont have the dvd its illegal blabla" stuff, I dont feel to answer to such stupid things. its the same like when going with a backpack in a shop and when leaving you are asked by the shop assistant to have a look into it because you COULD have stolen something. before they actually didnt see you packing in something in it, they simply dont have the right to ask you such shit (im from germany). same here with my case.

It's part of the rules (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm) Thunderbolt8. You just have to follow them. You might just have to wait till your friend comes back from his holidays. You should have done the backup copy before hand and lend him that. Oh well, that's what hindsight is for.

when my friend is coming back is not the question at all. the question remains the one I asked at the beginning and if you cant/dont want to help please dont answer at all. saves me a lot of time and work.

if that's your reaction towards a friendly remark, well you'll have a hard time here ;)

and if no answer saves you a lot of time and work, then don't post such a nonsense question answered many times before and on top of that your question has already been answered in this thread - just use brain v1.0

my problem is much more that I just had a friendly question before all the remarks came. so dont let it look like I came in here in a arrogantly or angry way and just wanted to cause trouble.
consindering your nonsense argument, since you are also german ill refer you to the sesamstraße, guess you could still need some more lessons in your life.

considering the question, yes it has already been answered and that topic can be closed. I just tried to defense myself, since you all prefered to put me into jail before I could even try to grab the money. thats just not my feeling of justice.

enough, someone close this please.
