I got an error from DVDD see screenshot. I had cleaned the DVD before ripping with IKlear fluid and cloth. I hit "Abort", clicked on "Delete incomplete file" and it continued to the end and said it got a good rip.

I cleaned the DVD again and got what looks like the same error and it came at same spot. I clicked Abort and this time "not to delete the incomplete file."

I got a message at end that Operation Completed Successfully Copied 12 files. Skipped 1 file.

What can I expect if I burn this this way? Probably no good, eh? I was wondering if it's possible it's a relatively unimportant file.

This is an eposodic DVD Sopranos Season 3 Vol 2.

Edit: Shrink can open the DVD Files. See Attachment Clipboard02 Screenshot. meh.

Edit: I polished the disk with Preen Floor Cleaner/Wax and then tried DVDD again. I skipped some files and copied over some others. I hit a problem area again and clicked "Ignore" this time. Now Shrink reads the Files. I wonder if the whole backup is OK and ready to burn. I'll try it to a DVDRW.

More than likely, the disk is damaged. The error is at the outside of the DVD, where it is most susectible. DVD Shrink in its quick analysis has missed that error but found another in VTS_01_8.VOB (on layer 1, near the hub), which is most likely, an ending to the last episode on the disk.

Short answer - the backup will be imperfect. If the disk is new, I'd exchange it. If the problem persists, I'd start to query whether the drive was duff.

Hi blutach,
I had gone ahead and made a backup using RB, and it seems to have come out fine. I think after polishing the disk and repeated tries DVDD was able to read the bad file.

I decided to exchange the disk anyway though, as it seemed shaky.

Cheers,
