why does vdubmod keeps buggin out?

My vritualdubmod 1.5.10.1 2366 keeps buggin out
and hangs ALOT when I edit my avi's (mpeg, xvid whatever)
Very frustrating when I tried so hard to edit something and the darn program just ceases to work and needs to F888 close

What could be causing this?

I have found just from using vdubmod that it is mostly the audio that gives it some serious problems. I put my mpegs through an avs file first and encode the audio separately. I only have success with cbr mp3s and waves during editing, everything else makes it crash.

Makes sense. I'll try it myself to edit just video without audio or at max mp3-cbr.
I never really audit audio when chopping video anyways
