Hey, thanks in advance for the help.

I was following the AGK-guide on their website, and I ran into this error:

Hi and welcome to the forum,

I had audio problems with that movie, I believe related to the recent and strong protection.

Did you rip (aka put Dvd/Vob files on your HD) with DvdDecrypter only or did you use one of the recent ripping helper like Ripit4me?

If no, try ripping again with Ripit4me (freeware) in one click and movie mode, see tutorial on their web-site and look at the thread here at Doom9.
Once ripped again you will be able to point AGK to the Ifo file generated and encode (I hope) successfully :)

I re-riped HP4 with RipIt4Me and re-ran AGK and I still got the same error:

So, instead of encoding it with a CBR MP3 (144K), I chose Auto, and it worked. I then chose VBR MP3 (144K), and it's running through it's paces now, will report back, but why would it work with VBR but not CBR?

a bug in LAME may be - try latest 2.36 or manually update LAME to 3.97 (or manually run lame on the wav file and see the exact error).

That's what I get when I run the AC3 file in LAME.

EDIT: So, I re-riped the movie with RI4M, and set-up AGK for the needed res & stuff, but I chose 160KBs instead of 144KBs, and it worked.

Well, first you can't run it on ac3 file, you would have to decode it to wav using azid. Second, from the output I can see that 144 is a missing bitrate from MPEG1 supported bitrates (for whatever reason). So use VRB or different bitrate CBR...

yep, just to say my encode just bombed out for the same reason because I'd selected 176kbit/s CBR for LAME. Just read this thread and re-did it using the more 'normal' 160kbit/s CBR and it's working fine. LAME gives the following version string...
'LAME 32bits version 3.97'
