So I have some footage from a camcorder of a few songs at a concert. And separate recording of the audio that was mixed off the soundboard. The camcorder footage is slightly faster than the separate audio. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to do an accurate shrink of the audio (easier than stretching the video), so they would both sync up.

Do you mean you just want to change the speed of the audio so it plays faster? Almost any audio or video editing app can do that. Or were you talking about changing the speed of the audio while preserving pitch? Not much software can do that well...

Hi!how to do an accurate shrink of the audio (easier than stretching the video)That's not really so. For an .AVI file (DivX-compressed or XviD-compressed), do the following - it should take about two minutes:

Load the video file and the audio file into VirtualDub, VirtualDubMod, or NanDub.
Set BOTH "Video"(VirtualDub, VirtualDubMod and NanDub) and "Audio"
(VirtualDub and NanDub - VirtualDubMOD>"Streams>"Stream list") to "Direct Stream Copy".

From under the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Framerate" - and select "Change so video and audio durations match"

Save with a new filename
