dv from mac, which dv is it?

hi!

i have a problem, i have a file from a MAC it's in .dv.

i can look at it with vlc-player, but i dont find a way (program) to open and edit it ( i have to adjust the brightness of the file).

then i want to burn it down to video cd or dvd.

can you tell me which software i could use ? i tried so many, but none even opened the file :(

Have you tried Quicktime Pro? It should be able to open the file.
Other options I've read about are:
- Focus Enhancements Firestore DV File Converter
- http://www.baobab.net/softcs.htm#dv
- Maybe Mplayer / Mencoder can do the trick, too.
- Maybe Avid Free DV can convert the file; at least there are both, Mac and Windows, versions: http://www.avid.com/freedv
