I have been trying to rip a DVD to XviD.
In IFO mode using DVD Decrypter i have ripped the files from the DVD to the PC.
These files have been checked and sund is in sync on the VOB files.
I then chose to encode them with Auto GK but there was an error parsing the IFO file so not being in IFO mode i copied the IFO file over and placed iti n the dir and it loaded fine!
I then started the encode and chose 6ch audio.
The resulkt as the avi was the sound way out of sync!
Then i tried the 2ch audio and the exact same problem!
What's going on people?
Cheers!

Try RipIt4Me in 'Movie only' mode. Should fix your synch problems.

I kept getting audio sync problems using auto encode tools like AutoGK. Now I just encode the video and then mux the audio and video together later with mkvmerge. Matroska is better than AVI so you should use it. You can adjust the time offset of the audio easily to make it in sync. Usually you want the offset to be 0ms but sometimes it's more or less, DVD Decrypter will put the offset in the demuxed file name if you demux using DVD Decrypter.

The title of the DVD is shown as this:
'LWW0EXW1' (Lion The Witch & The Wardrobe)
Region 2.
I very rarely get this problem.

This RipIt4Me, it seems very good but i don't know what to lick because loads other things coming up about vts and pif files or something and i dont know whether to click yes or no to it. :(
anywya i done that and the outcome was the same with sound out of sync again.

Does mkv merge work with AVI?
XviD is the format i am most familiar with atm.

Run RipIt4Me in "1-click" mode. It will walk you through all the necessary procedures to get a good rip without having to choose anything. If you still have problems you can either correct the synch manually with VirtualDub(Mod), or you may need to go to AutoGK version 2.30, as the latest version seems to have some problems with synch with certain hardware configurations or titles.
I successfully backed up that title with a DVD Decrypter .IFO rip, Gordian Knot and a quick manual adjust with VirtualDubMod.

There is a special installer on http://www.ripit4me.org/ that includes FixVTS. Also there's a guide you might wanna look at.
