Is there an easy way to do this because I'd like to experiment with recording my audio to a different source e.g. a minidisc that I can place closer to the person I am trying to hear. I know that pros, semi-pros, etc. use a slate for this purpose but I'm not sure how they sync it afterwards.
The only thing I can think of is to rip the audio from my video and [manually by inspection] find the spot right where the last waveform(?) from the slate is and cut it there and then do the same with the separate audio and then mux them together? Is there a better way to do this?
