DVB-T encoding to xvid in realtime ?

Hi

I was wondering if its possible to encode directly to XviD whilst recording a DVB-T stream on a Nebula Electronics DigiTV card ?

I have heard of people using mencoder in Linux bu have no clue where to startw ith this method.

Can anyone shed any light on this please ?
