Macrovision Protection Types

What is the difference between Macrovision types 1, 2 amd 3 protection?

from a DVD authoring perspective, not much.

PAL land only has one type, i believe NTSC land only has 2 types inplemented in DVD, so my guess is type 3 gets turned into type 1 at the replicators.

either way, a decent TBC (or possibly a proc amp that can strip off lines) will be able to remove it, and there's also dedicated boxes that'll do the same thing, so whichever macrovision you end up with, it's equally defeatable.

hell, even my cheap TV manages to strip macrovision before it sends it to the composite output.
