This picture (attached) is an interlaced frame with the fields separated side by side in virtualdubmod.

The fields seem to overlap a bit blending the them together so that it looks bad interlaced and deinterlaced.

What is it and how can I fix it.

Thanks

the image doesn't show what it could be - the interlace hasn't been preserved, so i can't tell if the ghost image is a consequence of the source or the processing it's undergone.

but my guess is it's standards-converted video, ie "field blended", so you might want to start by searching around for solutions to that.

Hi!

You might want to try using the "Ghost Reduction" feature of "TMPGEnc"...

Ok the image was not a good idea but here is a small m2v with the same interlacing (pal). When i deinterlace i separate the fields in an avs and use deinterlace smooth v1.1 in vdubmod to make it 50fps. But with this interlacing the 50fps looks bad.

Thanks

Oh, PAL. That says it all. You put it in a bag and throw it through the window.
This was most probably converted from NTSC, and no matter what you will do, you will never get a clean video.
So my advice to you: you keep your hands off it and you look for the same video in NTSC format...

Try restore24 or CDeblend (search in the forum)

Judging the sample, there's no way for this one. Shows sliding blending à la ConvertFPS, and inbetween there are triple-blended fields.
Hopeless. Awatef mentioned the available options. ;)

Try in avisynth:

AssumeTTF()
Telecide()

I am pretty sure it helps.

Edit:
Sorry, did not see your sample.
Just checked it now. Looks hopeless.
