Hello, I dont post much but i have a question that i hope gets answered

I recently bought the above mentioned tv card. With the ATi software i can bring up the captureing just fine but when i went into virtual dub i get the whole "Video device already in use: You cannot use this device when another video application, such as........, is already using it. To use this device close all other applications using it......."

Now since i had some other things to install and work on i decided to just format this computer, so my question is, with a clean slate ..before i plug this card in , what are the proper things i need to download to get this TVWonder650 to capture in other programs like Vdub. There are NO ATi drivers installed as i have not put in the hardware yet. i just wanna get a fresh start on what to do.

Some people have said not to install the ati drivers at all, but to install other ones??? if anyone can help me with this , i will greatly appreciate it and praise your name for ages to come :)

i remember reading somewhere that power director had the drivers in it to get this thing recognized in vdub. and another guy wrote to download the mmc 6.1 instead of the new one. i have no idea where to start with this. so if someone out there is seasoned in this or has seen someone with a similar model with a similar problem, please help :P

Hi!when i went into virtual dub i get the whole "Video device already in use: You cannot use this device when another video application, such as........, is already using it. To use this device close all other applications using it......."Sounds like you're using an older version of VirtualDub. Which version are you using?

The standard VirtualDub versions 1.6xxx no longer require a "wrapper" to capture properly...

Look for the card's drivers at ATI's website. You should only need the "ATI Theater 550 PRO/650 PRO Driver" (the last one is the 6.14.10.194). And as setarip_old said, use the newest version of VirtualDub.
