Hi guys,
Firstly, thanks in advance for you help.
I am looking at converting some smallo videos (4/5 mb) from mp4 format to AVI/WMV or something else that plays in Powerpoint 2003.
All I'm really looking for is something free that allows me to play these videos. The videos are fillers in a presentation I am working on and they hopefully will make it look better.

Checking the properties of the files, they are Mpeg 4 assoicated with Quicktime. But I need powerpoint to play it within powerpoint (it looks better).

Can anyone please help me.
Once again, thanks for you help.
I've done a search on converting mp4 to Avi/wmv but came back with 500 posts and then first 100 didn't actually show me how to do it.

Thanks

Schotty.

When you say avi, what do you plan to compress the video with? PowerPoint don't play avis compressed with XviD, x264 etc very well. With XviD videos, I've had issues with black screens, no audio etc. MPEG-1 on the other hand is fine. So I'd suggest you DirectShowSource() the mp4 file, feed the avs into an MPEG-1 Encoder like TMPGEnc which takes an avs input and reencode to MPEG-1 - safest solution.

PowerPoint is supposed to support Quicktime MP4s though. Give this (http://www.indezine.com/products/powerpoint/ppquicktime.html) a shot.
