Hi, does anyone know how to set Telecide to perform an exclusive pulldown cadence? I ran accross a very odd type of video, which I believe can be a 25fps telecine pulldown from film to NTSC video. It has a 6 frame cadence of 5 frames from blended fields and a progressive frame.

Use manual override of Telecide() as described in the Decomb documentation. You can specify any pattern you want for whatever frame ranges you want. Have a look at the section "Overriding Decomb Decisions" in the Decomb Reference Manual.

Hi Donald, thanks for the answer. After using the advanced cadence from decomb and not getting a clean image, I decide to take a look at those fields separatedly. I turns out the some of the fields were blended, during pulldown. I guess I canīt recover those full frames after all, but I leave here the cadence I found if someone is interested.

There you have 5 frames (A,B,C,D,E) turning into 6 frames for NTSC playout (and in a nasty way, I must say...).
I donīt know if this was accomplished in a Telecine special software or if some special equipment was used, but I guess itīs a little different from standard PAL to NTSC convertions (without the frame size adjustment).

Do a search on "blended fields". There are several tools designed to undo this kind of blending.

Thanks very much for pointing out the way, Donald.
I don't think there are many 25fps>NTSC material around, but there are some de-interlacers I'm looking at right now
(Restore24 (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=75432), FixBlendIVTC (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=101477) and Cdeblend (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=95924)) that might do the trick.
