View Full Version : Appending? Simple question...

I've been using Gordian Knot, FlasK, Xmpeg, Vdub, etc (GKnot is the best by far) to make my rips...beautiful rips I must say :D
I've been doing this for about 6 months now, but now I have a question that I believe has a simple answer. I just can't find that answer

Anyway, I've got a bunch of movies done, and I've got a picture I made that I want to use as a logo.
I don't want a logo in the corner that rotates or fades or whatever...I know how to do that. I hate those fucking things lol
I want to simply append my picture for say, 5 sec?, to the front of my movie.
I can't find anyway to do this, and I can't find anything on this topic in either the guides or in this forum.
I've been looking at VDub a lot, but it seems to only append movies to movies. Or to do that logo thing using a filter.

All I want to do is put this logo/picture I've got in front of my movies. How can I do this?
Is it possible w/o re-compressing the DivX?
Any help would be great.

Thanks a lot

I think you will need a video editing program like adobe premiere or something like that, which probably lets you add still pictures to your video track. I never did it though, so this is just what I think. But I have no idea if the movie then needs to be recompressed or not.

Sorry I can't help you more.

If you goto virtualdub.org he has a plugin link for intro adding. I think it goes to donald g's page...

try the animation thing in paint shop pro. surely you can create a small avi from a still picture if you add the picture to the frames. never tried this either so i am only hypothesising.

Thanks for the help...
I'm going to see if I can make my image into a movie (just a bunch of the same frame) and then append it to my movies using vdub.

Something so simple just has to be difficult
Thanks again :)

If you really want to get fancy, you can make it explode or dissolve (using After Effects), and add some music as well.
