Hi guys,

I have a 1080p file in an AVI container , any way to extract/mix this into a standalone wmv9
file? I wanted to play it on the xbox360 via MCE.

Thanks

That can be done with the SolveigMM ASF Multipexer. Audio however requires reencoding to WMA Pro, which during playback is reencoded on the fly back to AC3. When the video is encoded anamorphic, you also need to to apply a PAR using the WMV Aspect Ratio Changer.

WMV is ASF. You can rename the extension. The Xbox360 however won't accept the AC3 audio in it. You need to reencode the audio track to WMA Pro (as said).

Demux the audio track from the avi using VirtualDub. Reencode to WMA Pro with Windows Media Encoder (9 or Studio Edition). Mux the asf video stream with the newly encoded audio stream using Windows Media Stream Editor. The result plays perfectly on the Xbox 360.

BTW. Is the video anamorphic? If so change the AR using the WMV Aspect Ratio Changer.

You have to select the WMA Pro codec to encode more than 2 channels.
