you might need to bob and weave....

hehe. by that i mean bob-deinterlace (ie turn each field into it's own frame), run a hardcore denoiser (mvdegrain is a good place to look), then weave the doubled framerate back down to interlaced frames.

you'll probably also need to use some form of de-blocking, as interlaced action sequences can get quite blocky, though the beauty of high motion is we often don't spot the artefacts as easily.

I would say you should have searched the forums more carefully, but honestly, I don't know how one would search for "how to post a clip" :). Amongst those listed I've used rapidshare and imageshack (images only), both are easy enough to use.

Seesaw is a rather sensitive sharpener, and that means it'll make any obvious artifacts much more obvious. It's only meant for video that has virtually no visible artifacts (the smoothing part takes care of whatever isn't obvious). You might look at the "comparison of denoiser filters" in the other avisynth forum, there are lots of filters listed there that might help, though by posting a clip here the rest of us can target help better.

The quality of the clip you posted is already excellent! What about it are you trying to "clean up"? What about that clip bothers you?

The only thing I could see that might need some minor improvement is that it was captured from a composite source, so there is some minor dot crawl. I don't know the exact filter (DeDot?) to handle that, but even if you want to, it's very minor and only noticable on the titles/stills.

hi Trixter.
i would like to see it a little sharper and the noise cleaned up.

also did it take 8 min to download for you.maybe i should edit it smaller.

Well, hope you don't take this the wrong way, but I think you're nuts. :-) That clip is already very high quality with the exception of the dot crawl I already mentioned. Any sharpening you attempt is just going to wreak havoc on the high frequencies, and the noise is barely perceptible... You can't squeeze blood from a stone...

Still, if you want to do both at the same time, look into fft3dfilter at http://avisynth.org.ru/fft3dfilter/fft3dfilter.html . Read the documentation carefully -- your source is so clean I'm not sure there's much more it can do, but it is a temporal de-noiser and sharpener in one filter that I've had great results with.

As for download time, yes, it took 8 minutes -- not a problem for me, but most examples should be 10MB or less for the other people here who don't have much broadband.
