Not really sure whare is should go so I will start here. I reformatted my hd a week or so ago and found that vdub/nandub freezes my windows 200o machine. I thought that it may be a fluke so I reformatted again last night and it froze again (about an hour in the first pass). The only thing that I have changed are the video card drivers 12.41 nvidia (for an old Geforce DDR) and installed SP2. I guess I also installed updated sound card drivers as well (SB live value). So I am pretty much stuck with reverting all the drivers to see chich one may be the culpret, I am startingwith uninstalling SP2 and go from there.

I know this is such open ended problem that could be anything, but just wanted to see if there was known issues with SP2 or if anyone may have a better idea where to start to marrow this search...

Epox 7kxa (via kx133 chipset)
Hercules Prophet DDR
Sound Blaster Live Value
2 Dlink Nics
adaptec scsi card

Any ideas would be helpful, thanks

***edit*** I should have mentioned that this happens with both the 3.11 and 4.11 codecs...

**edit again*** Looks like SP2 was the problem, hasn't froze yet but will wait until it does at least two jobs to make sure...

Hi,

it can't be just Servicepack 2, because I have it installed and don't have trouble with VDub. I have occasional kmode exception not handled once or twice a week when using VDub and playing Age of Kings at the same time.
I DID have trouble with a poor Nvidia driver, a newer one fixed it.

SP2 isn't the problem as I've been using it for along time.

Are you overclocking? Vdub/NanDub are very sensitive to overclocking and agressive memory tweaks. Trust me I found out the hard way :-)
