Hi everyone,
I am relatively new, although I have been using GordianKnot for quite a while and even nandub and virtualdub for some time. I am looking for a solution that will make the whole process a matter of a few clicks to encode a whole list of m2v files to avi using the xvid codec.
I have about 100 files all in m2v format. It was originally a huge HDTV recorded .ts file. I demuxed it using ProjextX, cut it using Mpeg2Schnitt and finally used two scripts to batch encode the AC3 to MP3 and create .d2v files using DGIndex. All those steps are semi if not fully automated. I can start the .bat file and the audio and video files are converted ready for GK.
The annoying part is when I have to open GK and then do the following 100 times:
- open d2v
- open audio
- set the res to PAL
- autocrop
- set to smart left and righ crop
- click save and encode
- set field deinterlace on
- click save and encode
- click save
- click just mux
and finally add to queue
I dont wish to run the compressibility check although it would be good if that was automatic and it would set the percentage to say 55% automatically. The video clips are all short and quality doesnt matter too much so i dont care if they range between 40-70% so i dont even bother with the compressibility check because its too many clicks.
All of that I have to do 100 times and it takes AGES!!! I wish i could just say drag and drop all the input files in (m2v and mp3) with matching titles and say 55% for compressibility check, set my first and second pass xvid options, autocrop (smart), 640 res and then just go ... do them all one after the other.
I actually found an AutoCrop script that can be added to the .avs file for automatic cropping but i cant figure out how to automate the rest. GK has no commandline. It would suck if i have to encode 100 files by clicking 20 times each time and waiting for the compressibility check each time (although ill probably skip it). Ill have 2 more sets of 100 clips i have to do soon.
So ... any solutions out there at all? I basically have all the variables that need to be put into GK to get the right result I just dont know how to tell GK to apply the same thing to each of the 100 files.
I once made a program that generates all the correct .avs files and just copies the firstpass and secondpass setings from a previous encode i did but then how to i use say virtualdubmod to batch process the .avs files and encode the input file as xvid.
thanks for any pointers
