I'm a newbie so please be patient. I've search the library and haven't found a soultion.
To start with all my MS WinXT patches are curent and I have installed DirectX 9.0c.
My external USB DVD burner came with Nero Smart Start - Express 6 (6.3.1.17 bundled) which loads the Nero DVD Decoder. I use this because it works with DVD43 (3.9.0.0) for backing up my purchased DVDs.
I also run Sonic's My DVD/Digital Media Plus V7 (2.4.11a) which came with my system. It says it will burn AVI, DivX and Xvid files but I have not been able to get it done. I've traced what I believe to be the problem to the fact that Nero and Sonic do not play nicely together.
Sonic's support data base says to uninstall Nero (and thus Nero DVD Decoder), which I don't want to do.
Any ideas on how I can make these two programs play nicely or do I need something entirely different? Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.
