So i'm finally formatting my pc, and untill now I always installed video codec packs, which now I know is [profanity edited].
I read here, and in other respected video sites, that you should download individual each codec.
But after searching for the codecs I saw that there are a few 'versions' for each codec (ex for xvid; Nic's Xvid and Koepi's Xvid).

So I wanted to consult with you guys on which codecs to download ?
I need codecs for; Xvid, DivX, Mpeg2 and Mpeg1.

Thanks.

I install only the Gordian Knot codec pack plus AC3 Filter, and I can play pretty much anything.

I'd recommend the CCCP. You can the link to the homepage in my signature, which has links to download and to the wiki (for more information).

fyi, and divx/xvid can be handled by the same decoder :)
