I hope this thread is in the correct place, this is my first post.
Can anybody assist me please, I am using Mpeg2schnitt to edit media recorded from SD set top box to PC. Presently demuxing and muxing M2v and Mpa with Mpeg-Streamclip. However, I would like to try Mplex1.exe to mux but it is a command line program and I don't know to much about that. I am not sure what entry is required on the command line to make it work after MP2Schnitt.
C: ???.
Would appreciate any assistance.

Hi!

I know absolutely nothing about this specific program, but have you tried, in a DOS box, typing (without the quotation marks):

"mplex1.exe /?"

Thanks Setarip, I know it must seem dumb of me but on the web site for the program it states "mplex1.exe video_in audio_in [mpeg_out]" and I am not real sure how to write that at the Dos line, ie is it something like "c:/mplex1.exe/video m2v/audio mpa/mpeg". I'm afraid I haven't a clue.

Mplex1 yourvideo.m2v youraudio.ac3 yourmuxedfile.mpg

Put mplex1 in the same folder as your video and audio file, otherwise copy it into c:\windows , where the system will always be able to find it and run it.

None of those slashes are necessary. Good job giving it a shot, respect !

Thanks Pookie, I still cannot get it to work, have tried all sorts of entries. I think that I might just give it away and go back to Mpeg_Streamclip. it is very user friendly and seems to do the job.
Thanks guys for your assist.

Thanks smok3.

I found mjpegtools 1.9.0rc3 and it has mplex.exe version 1.9.0 (2.2.3).

My PCTV HD Nano Stick (73e) from Pinnacle uses a default mode to record files and when I run it in ProjectX it says the file is: MPEG-2 PS/SS (PES Container) so hope this will work.

Though through my research it seems the file recorded needs to be TS or PVA? I can record in TS so may have to try that if I have no success with mplex. Though when recording in TS the file wont open in Avidemux prog.

thanks for your help.
