This is very ridiculous but, doing mostly 23.976 --> Pulldown3:2 encodings, I just realized that IŽve never seen a "Interlaced" kind of option for CCE.
Where can u set this? as doing some captures from NTSC source, I intend to encode to MPEG-2 just "as is" for playing in NTSC DVD player.
If not possible, than IŽll just stick to HC for interlaced sources.
Cheers.

In the settings:
Uncheck the Progressive frame box.
Select Alternative instead of Zig Zag.
Determine the field order of your video. Follow the guides/sticky if you don't know how to do this.
Older versions of CCE only output TFF. Set the Offset line box to 1 if your video is BFF. 0 if your video is TFF.
Newer versions of CCE can output either. If TFF, then check "output top field first". If BFF, then uncheck "output top field first". Offset line box = 0.
For interlaced NTSC: GOP: M=3, N=5.

Thanks, dude, my problem was cause I knew what settings I should use for interlaced but wasnŽt paying attention to the offset line value. Incredible how something as dumb as that can have your going around in cirlces tweaking things that have no effect whatsoever :D
Thanks again.

FYI, my personal experience is that some software players wig out if you output a BFF MPEG-2 stream, so I've stuck with TFF without issues.
